Kingston, Jamaica – October 28, 2025.

Because of the widespread damage and growing unrest, Prime Minister Andrew Holness declared a State of Emergency in St. Andrew South. The declaration allows police and soldiers to protect citizens faster and coordinate rescue operations.

“Our first duty is to protect the Jamaican people,” said Prime Minister Holness.
