Kalash Lights Up Fort-de-France: A Stellar Summer Concert at Stade de Dillon

On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, the Stade de Dillon in Fort-de-France Martinique hosted the major musical event of the summer holidays: an exceptional concert by Kalash. The renowned Martinican artist, known as “Mwaka Boss,” delivered an unforgettable performance of over three hours, showcasing around thirty of his songs, from the oldest to the newest, with numerous guest stars.

From the start, Kalash surprised his audience by appearing above the stage, perched on a platform, dressed in a suit, and wielding a flame projector. Accompanied by his musicians, he ignited the stage in every sense, featuring impressive pyrotechnics, wardrobe changes, and a spectacular stage setup.

The concert was a whirlwind of reggae, dancehall, and shatta, with Kalash paying tribute to his native island. To make the evening even more memorable, the artist invited many notable personalities to join him on stage. Among the guests were Lieutenant for “Pran pié,” Satori for “Moments gâchés,” Maureen for “Laptop,” as well as Saël, Lord Kossity, Mc Janick, Don Miguel, Pleen Pyroman, and violinist Afroline. In addition, Thierry Henry, former international footballer and current coach of the French U21 team, also took part in the event, having artistically directed the single “En Balade” with Kima, who was also present.

The audience enjoyed a retrospective of Kalash’s greatest hits: “Bando,” “Plézi,” “Big Machine,” “Après l’automne,” “Chanson du Mwaka,” “Free me,” “Independent gyal,” “Taken,” “So coman,” and many others. The artist captivated his spectators from start to finish with his energy and emotion.

To close this memorable evening, thousands of spectators sang along to “Tombolo” and “Mada,” creating a moment of unity and intense emotion. A performance of such magnitude leaves one speechless. It was truly a must-see event.
