The Met Gala, an annual, invitation-only event, was held Monday in New York City. It typically Met Gala typically takes place on the first Monday of May each year. Celebrities stunned Monday night at the Met Gala in New York City in earthen colors inspired by concepts like decay and fairytales.
As usual, the red carpet witnessed breathtaking displays of creativity and style, with celebrities, designers, and artists fearlessly pushing the boundaries of fashion and crafting bold statements.
The theme of the 2024 Met Gala was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” and the dress code was “The Garden of Time.” referencing a 1962 short story by British author J.G. Ballard. This Costume Institute’s latest exhibition, is slated to grace the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art from May 10 through September 2.
Set in a garden adorned with translucent, time-manipulating flowers, the Ballardian theme permeated the evening’s fashion narrative.
The co-chairs of the event were Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth alongside American Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. Lopez, who wore a nude illusion Schiaparelli gown, described it as “quite the honor” to serve as co-chair, although she hinted it might be the last time. “I think that’s it for me.”
Some of the most notable looks came from Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Alia Bhatt, Cardi B, Camila Cabello and Sydney Sweeney.

Met Gala favorites including Rihanna, Blake Lively, Kate Moss, Beyoncé, Solange and Taylor Swift were all not in attendance at this year’s gala.
The event raised roughly $22 million for the Costume Institute at the Met.
